Ep 30 - Adam Stone on His Weird Ready Position
Thursday Nov 28, 2019
Thursday Nov 28, 2019
Adam Stone played tennis for the University of Texas at Tyler and then went on to become the team's coach. He played professional poker for more than a decade and was national champion in 35+ men's doubles.
In this episode of Pickleball Problems, host Mark Renneson talks to Stone about this image below. It was taken from a video posted on the Pickleball Instructor's Forumon Facebook and shows Stone in a rather upright position, with his paddle quite low.
This position is contrary to how many pickleball players are told they should stand when preparing for the ball. And since Stone plays at an elite level, we figured we'd talk to him about what's going on in this pic and whether we should re-think what it means to "be ready".
